 Frequently Asked Questions...

  • How long is your waiting list?

    • As of May 1, 2021 I have made the decision to no longer maintain a waiting list due to the length and overwhelming amount of additional work and follow-up I've had trying to keep it up to date. Going forward an email notification of new litters and availability will be sent out to subscribers of my mailing list and applications will be reviewed when I have kittens available.

  • What is your kitten pricing?

    • Pet Kitten Pricing: $2000 + 9.5% sales tax

    • Show/Breeding Pricing: $2500 - $3000 + 9.5% sales tax (To approved breeders only)

  • Can I visit your cattery?

    • Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements I no longer allow visits to my home for allergy testing.

  • Do you offer a health guarantee?

    • Keuka Ridge Siberian kittens are guaranteed for 2 (two) years against genetic defects, and specifically HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and PKD (polycystic kidney disease). Keuka Ridge Siberians will replace said kitten with another of the same type (pet/breed/show)
as soon as availability allows. No cash refunds will be given.

    • FIP is also guaranteed for 1 year, but I ask to please be notified if a FIP diagnosis is suspected so that I can consult with your veterinarian.

  • Will my kitten come with registration papers?

    • Absolutely.. All Keuka Ridge Siberian kittens are registered with TICA (The International Cat Association) and will come with the TICA Blue Slip registration paperwork for processing transfer of ownership.

    • When you submit the form to TICA there is a $12 processing fee.

  • When can my kitten come home?

    • Keuka Ridge Siberian kittens are normally ready to go to their furever homes between the ages of 12-14 weeks of age. When I schedule pick-up dates for my litters I try to space them out so that all of the kittens aren't going home on the same day. It's easier on the momma's if the kittens transition out of the house over several days rather than all at once.

  • Do you sell cats with breeding rights?

    • Cats/Kittens will only be sold with breeding rights to approved breeders only. If you're interested in being approved please contact me to discuss your breeding program and what you're looking for in a breeding cat. .

  • What vaccinations are given?

    • Keuka Ridge Siberian kittens receive 2 FVRCP booster shots prior to going home. They will require a 3rd vaccination from your vet at the age of 16 weeks old.

  • What if I or my family member has an allergic reaction to the kitten?

    • I offer a 14 day return period of any kitten due to an allergic reaction. The purchase price will be refunded minus the non-refundable $500 deposit.

  • Are Siberians really allergy free?

    • The short answer is NO. However, they do have lower levels of the Fel-D1 protein that causes allergic reactions so most people who have mild to moderate reactions can easily acclimate and tolerate living with Siberians.

    • I don't recommend placing Siberians in homes with people who have severe allergic reactions.

Vet Exam & Age Appropriate Vaccinations

Your kitten will receive FVRCP vaccinations by my licensed veterinarian Dr. Baugher of The Cats On Commerce  at the age of  9 and 12 weeks. At that time they will also have a full wellness exam to ensure your kitten is happy and healthy. If your kitten is sixteen weeks or older, they will also receive their Rabies vaccination. I DO NOT give FeLV vaccination unless specifically requested by the new owner.

Spay or Neuter

Here at Keuka Ridge Siberians I believe that part of responsible breeding is to spay & neuter all pets prior to going home.  There are no exceptions so please don't ask. My veterinarian is a Feline Pediatric Specialist and performs all surgeries between 11-12 weeks of age. By practicing early Spay/Neuter kittens recover so much faster than waiting till they are older.  The incisions are super tiny and completely healed within a matter of a couple of days. All surgeries are performed by Dr. Caron Baugher, DVM of The Cats On Commerce. Feel free to read more about the importance of early spay/neuter here: Cat Fancier’s Association Early Spay/Neuter

High Quality Photos & Private Online Web Portal

Reserving your kitten is such an exciting but nervous time and I want my families to be as involved in the growth of their kitten as possible. When you reserve a Keuka Ridge kitten you will be provided login information for your private online web portal. Through the portal you will have access to all documents associated with your kitten purchase, regular growth and weight updates, important milestones reached, all veterinary and medical information, and a gallery section for updates of videos and photos. I'll also send you a Facebook Invitation to join the private Keuka Ridge Siberian Owner's Group where you can chat with other owners as well as gets lots of behind the scenes photos and videos.

Implanted Home Again Microchip

All Keuka Ridge Siberian kittens are implanted with a Home Again Microchip while under anesthesia for their spay/neuter surgery. The implant is no bigger than a grain of rice and it will allow lost kittens to be reunited with their families. Home Again provides lifetime free database registration.

Thirty day FREE trial of Trupanion Pet Insurance

As advanced veterinary care becomes more available and costs increase, medical insurance for pets is rising in popularity and becoming an essential part of responsible pet ownership. Just like with health insurance for other members of the family, medical insurance for a pet helps owners give their pet the best care, without worrying about the cost.

Large Soft-sided Bag or Airline Approved Carrier

To ensure that your kitten is safely secured for his/her journey home, I will provide an airline approved carrier for their ride home. I normally leave them out in the open for the cats/kittens to play in a few days prior so the fleece padding will smell like "home" and provide them comfort.

Kitten Care Package

My kittens go home with a small selection of their favorite toys, as well as food to get them started in their new home. It's important not to abruptly change a kittens diet so I will provide you with what they are used to eating.
